Having said that, I think your numbers look generally good and your doctor's advice appears to be sound.

Keep in mind that, for most people, each weight training session would lead to a BG elevation - not much unlike a meal with carbs:

http://healthcorrelator.blogspot.com/2010/07/our-bodys-priority-is-preventing.html

Given this, going from 6 to, say, 3 weight training sessions (30 minutes or so each) per week would probably lower the A1C for most people.

My point is that exercise in moderation would probably make one insulin sensitive without raising BG levels as much as athlete-level exercise.Ned Kockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02755560885749335053noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8859456735165996893.post-41566504359023784742018-04-05T10:55:42.802-07:002018-04-05T10:55:42.802-07:00HI

I am 63 years old and I am 6'2 and weigh roughly 200 pounds. I just had my routine medical checkup and everything seemed fine, except for my FBG, which was 126. My AC1 was 6.0 Choles HDL: 57 LDL: 130 Tris : 93 BP 120/80 I have averaged around 115 on a fasting blood glucose for these 15 years. I also take my own BG from time to time. It is always between 90-100 2 hours after meals. My question is this: Am I still considered a pre-diabetic or a diabetic? My doctor said it is not necessary for medication, just to stay on the diet and exercise program. By the way, I exercise 6 times per week w/ weight training and walking 30 miles a week. I also must confess that I become very very stressed at taking these blood tests, especially for glucose levels. Can you help me out? Thanks, Frank.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10797538209996733603noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8859456735165996893.post-39597412948490625892015-09-05T07:01:44.895-07:002015-09-05T07:01:44.895-07:00collaborative approaches with organizations and ag...collaborative approaches with organizations and agencies allowing for work across systems locally, http://homeremediesforeczema.org/
jadehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13835847777966515522noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8859456735165996893.post-25562503943025452522015-08-24T20:45:27.574-07:002015-08-24T20:45:27.574-07:00kudo, concise & clear. you're a scientist!...kudo, concise & clear. you're a scientist!

perhaps you could composite the table for all others FBG values?

cheers,Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8859456735165996893.post-2346307472812840242015-03-19T13:48:43.977-07:002015-03-19T13:48:43.977-07:00Well - on my last blood test fasting glucose was 8...Well - on my last blood test fasting glucose was 83 and A1C was 5.7%Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10709553155869979806noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8859456735165996893.post-36551431484393179122015-03-19T10:04:17.499-07:002015-03-19T10:04:17.499-07:00I'd like to make a point about the logistics o...I'd like to make a point about the logistics of getting a fasting blood sugar reading. When I get one, it's in the morning before I eat anything. I leave the house and drive in traffic for about 15 minutes and then walk in and wait another 10 or 15 minutes before I get my blood taken. During that time, I guess the cortisol caused my blood sugar to go up, perhaps from the mild stress of driving.

I experimented once where my BS reading at home was 96. Then when I got to the lab, I took my own reading again, and it said 116. Even though I hadn't eaten anything yet. And of course the lab showed something like 120 when I got the results back later. I guess my point is, these lab numbers all have a context to them. Am I really pre-diabetic, or is it a cortisol issue?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8859456735165996893.post-82726828742865535732015-03-13T07:33:23.756-07:002015-03-13T07:33:23.756-07:00Spam above deleted.Spam above deleted.Ned Kockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02755560885749335053noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8859456735165996893.post-65681255649436285782015-03-12T21:01:10.520-07:002015-03-12T21:01:10.520-07:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8859456735165996893.post-82197638151821945842015-03-09T08:49:04.073-07:002015-03-09T08:49:04.073-07:00Spam comments above deleted.Spam comments above deleted.Ned Kockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02755560885749335053noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8859456735165996893.post-1790948978568114352015-03-08T22:12:26.692-07:002015-03-08T22:12:26.692-07:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8859456735165996893.post-9368484215365673502015-03-03T11:27:05.368-08:002015-03-03T11:27:05.368-08:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08514083745497049385noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8859456735165996893.post-22896209075829416882015-02-26T22:53:03.423-08:002015-02-26T22:53:03.423-08:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16701173041666870571noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8859456735165996893.post-87628436819180281792015-02-25T17:17:20.876-08:002015-02-25T17:17:20.876-08:00Thanks David.
